The Santa Barbara County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association proudly represents the hardworking and dedicated men and women who serve the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office. Our Association represents more than 450 members, including sheriff’s deputies, custody deputies, dispatchers, district attorney investigators, and air support pilots.
As newly elected President of the SBCDSA, I am honored to continue serving this Association and its members. Since joining the Board of Directors in 2023, I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated leaders who have remained focused on protecting our members, strengthening our Association, and supporting the important work our members do every day across the California Central Coast.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Neil Gowing for his many years of committed and steady leadership as President. His tenure helped guide the Association through important growth and progress, and I am grateful for the foundation he helped build.
As we move forward, my focus will remain on advocating for the best working conditions, wages, and benefits possible for our members. Our members serve with professionalism, courage, and dedication, and they deserve strong representation, meaningful support, and a clear voice in the decisions that affect their work and their families.
I am excited for the opportunity to lead the SBCDSA and continue building strong partnerships within Santa Barbara County and beyond. Together, we will remain committed to protecting and supporting our members while they protect the communities we are proud to serve.
Sgt. Tyler Yeates
