The SBCDSA represents the hard working and dedicated men and women, who work for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office. The association represents over 450 members and includes: sheriff’s deputies, custody deputies, dispatchers, district attorney investigators and air support pilots. It is our focus to protect and support our members while they protect the communities across the California Central Coast.
In 2021 we are making strides within the association to ensure our members are protected and confident in their daily duties as peace officers. We have established our association staff with the hiring of an Executive Director and an Office Manager who will ensure efficiency in our operations and increased accessibility to our members and to the community.
We encourage the community to join us in our mission to bring safety to our communities and to the officers who protect them. Through the Santa Barbara Deputy Sheriffs’ Foundation members of the association and the community can provide financial support and participation in the mission of the SBDSF. Backed by the SBC Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, the SBDSF is a charitable foundation that provides relief and support to the members of the DSA and the communities they serve. Some of the efforts the Foundation supports include 911 At Ease, supporting first responders with mental health resources, and our annual Shop-with-a-Cop event to benefit children affected by domestic violence and other life traumas.
I look forward to continuing my service to the members as the DSA President, and will continue to grow the partnerships and connections we are making within the communities of Santa Barbara County and beyond.
Sincerely,
Neil Gowing
President
