In 2000, the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office Victim Witness Assistance Program resurrected the State Street Mile bringing back a popular event while raising funds for the Crime Victim Emergency Fund. Every dollar of your entry fee translates into tangible and essential help for victims: rent assistance; food, clothing and emergency lodging expenses; and repair costs for a victim’s vehicle that was stolen in the course of a bank robbery, just to name a few.
